Being an avid collector of Lego mini Figures I longed for a storage box that worked to hold the many collections Lego releases each year. The often used to have 16 figures, sometimes 18 and occasionally 12, plus base plate and the accessories.
I designed this box with inspiration from the Bambu rugged box (for the latch only) and designed what you see here. I have 2 base boxes so far, one holds 16 characters plus a larger section for some series with longer or larger figure accessories. The other is made to hold 18 figures (series 25 will have 18 figures but they less often use the larger accessories these days.
The pictures you see have been further modified by me to show have the series and logo for Lego on them. Not wanting to cause copyright infringement, I have only uploaded and shared plain boxes which you can customize if you know how to your hearts content.
You will need one latch per case ( I printed it in Petg ), 2 off m3 x 35mm socket head cap screws and two thin nuts.
the hinge is designed for 15mm x 1.8mm split dowel pins that are hard pushed into the hinges. I have never had one come out yet, but if you get 25mm versions, once pushed through the holes you cam bend the ends down and they will never come out. It works really well and is cheaper than cap screws if printing a lot of these.
I printed the boxes in Matt PLA, 3 perimeters on a textured PEI sheet. On my old Prusa it takes about 10 hours to print a complete case, on the Bambu it takes about 4 hours.
There is space in the lid to hold the bags if you keep them too, the leaflets also fit with each figure also and the base plates are laid under the character.
I will make a video at some point of the hinge once I make my next batch
