Ever since I got my Dan Wesson 715, I have thought of how I'd like to make a scope mount for it, since it has the two mounting holes on the underside of the barrel.
I finally took it up and went into inventor to draw one. I am quite content with the design, as it can print without support, and I used the fancy more printable style of holes.
The mount is for a scope with 25.4mm tube size (1 inch). The spacing of the holes to clamp the ring on top is 33mm by 10.75mm (probably also a more logical size in imperial units).
I used CNC kitchen's short heat set inserts, size M4. They can be put in from the underside, this way there's still some “flesh” left for the insert to transfer it's forces a bit better.
I might draw some different ring sizes, and/or a RIS top side, depending on interest.
