An aesthetically pleasing set of bookends with rope trim that include a tail with feathers and arrow point - creating the fun look of an arrow shaft piercing through your books. The bottom portion is designed hollow (with a threaded plug) so that you can fill it with sand, gold bullion, or any other dense material you have on hand to give them a bit more weight when holding up a set of books.
The STL for all of the parts are oriented as they should be for printing, and a color change can be used to print the arrow tip and tail feathers in different colors. I printed the “bookend" part with a layer height of .2 mm and the “tail” and ”arrow" parts at a layer height of .1 mm, just to make their detail a bit sharper. No supports are needed for any of the parts (including the inner hollow portion thanks to a hidden chamfer), but when printing the “tail” and “arrow” I used a brim - just to make sure they didn't slide around on the bed. I didn't need to, but you could also consider slowing down the print speed to 50% if you have trouble printing those cleanly all the way to the top.
I'd recommend slicing on your own, but I've also included here the “gcode” I used for printing these on my Prusa Mini, as well as the 3MF files I used for the two parts that have color changes.
