This plant pot snaps together with printed pins, so you don't need a multi-material printer to print it in tri-colour glory!
I have updated the model in March 2024 to add tolerances to the holes after reports of printing difficulty.
The tolerances are deliberately tight on the original model, (although it printed well on my Prusa Mini+). It will take some force to push together, and is not designed to come back apart.
I have included versions of the STLs with an additional .5mm of tolerance (or .25mm on all sides of pins). These are the STLs labelled ‘.5mm-tolerance. On some printers, it may be desirable to use these versions of the STLs. I'm uploading them so that you have the choice. If you are not 100% certain, use these versions. :)
Not all parts have a new version with the additional tolerance. Tolerances were added to parts with cuts (where the pins go in). The pins themselves have not been adjusted, so will print just fine.
To print without tolerances, download these files: Top; Front; Base; Ring; BtnInner; BtnOuter.
To print with tolerances, download these files: Top.5mm-tolerance; Front.5mm-tolerance; Base.5mm-tolerance; Ring.5mm-tolerance; BtnInner; BtnOuter.
Note that provided GCode does not contain these tolerances. You will have to slice it for your printer.
1. Start with the circle at the front of the inner ring.
2. Snap the white button pieces onto the black holder. You may need to use compressive force.
3. Snap the button piece into the black band. Ensure it is to correct way up.
4. Push the black band into the white base.
5. Push the red top onto the black ring.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
