This is a parametric and light flower pot holder with a little cup to catch the water from excess watering, that hangs onto a ledge, shelf or window sill.

They are intended for use with small pots; the ones in the photo are 10cm pots, 7.5cm in diameter. They are placed on a window sill that's 7.75cm wide. I've included the OpenSCAD file, so they can easily be modified for bigger or smaller pots, but obviously do not have the structural integrity for large pots.

These are great for seedlings in a space optimized manner, before transplanting to bigger pots.

Editable parameters:

  • wid: the width of the ledge the bracket holds on to (internal length of the bracket)
  • dia: the diameter of the pot under the lip (diameter of top hole)
  • hig: the hight of the pot from the lip to the bottom (hight of vertical beam and cup geometry)
  • tol: you're printer's tollerance for press fit (tolerance of cup fit)

Print instructions

Rafts: No
Supports: No
Resolution: 0.2
Infill: 40%
Filament: Any PETG

Notes:

These are designed to be printed without supports. The cup has a small beam that should help to bridge the top part. Despite that, your printer may still not be able to close the gap properly, in which case you can try with supports.

If they're going to get any sunlight, you should print them in PETG. PLA will degrade with UV exposure, eventually.
