It's a display tray for your dice, a carrying case, and a dice tray when needed! Post printing needs only a few magnets for the cover and, optionally, felt for the inner tray if you desire.
Inner tray you ask? Yes! As a case it can carry a set of average dice well enough (D4 to D20 and a percent die) and when ready the inner dice holder may be removed so you can use the base as a dice rolling tray!
The clearances were designed with FDM printing in mind for the print, however, SLA would work fine, just expect a bit more clearance.
Some quick notes:
- There are two variations for the inner tray pieces, lining and no lining.
- If you want to put a felt liner in (I measured roughly 2 or so mm with what I had), then go for the lining models.
- I tried to go for some sizings to fit most dice, so there's a chance your own may be too loose most likely, or just a bit too snug.
- But overall, it should fit most dice securely :3
- Lastly, the top cover has two variants, It can be printed as a single piece or with the inner piece separate for a possibly cleaner print.
- I was having issues with supports and didn't like how the finish was coming out.
- BUT! This also enables you to add fluff, or padding or some soft material to help keep the dice in place when it's closed, otherwise due to the clearance I mentioned prior, they'll rock around!
- A good remix or addition I may make would be to alter the inside to cover each specific die, or have a print in place spring mechanism to keep the pressure on the dice (overdesigning FTW!)
- I did originally design this to be sold, but I'm releasing here for hopefully some good remixes if people like the design.
Other than that, it's a well-designed 'lil dice pyramid! Pointy!
