Inspired by Val's “Twist 7 dices storage” I wanted to make a similar, but minimalistic box in vase mode, using less filament (26g), faster to print (~10x), also smaller to be printable on the Prusa Mini, and without magnets. However, Val's tube with the magnets will probably give a more satisfying operation :)

I also added a version for 6 standard D6 dice (dicetube_6; 21g) and a mini version for a test print (7g).

Printing tips:

  • vase mode
  • best with 0.4mm nozzle; 0.6mm nozzle might work.
  • advanced → external perimeter: 0.6mm
  • advanced → slice gap closing radius: 0.01mm  ← IMPORTANT
  • inner part: layer height 0.2mm, bottom solid layers: 5 (min 1mm)
  • outer part: layer height 0.17mm, bottom solid layers: 3

I usually tend to speed up case mode printing setting filament settings → cooling → “slow down if layer print time is below:” to, say, 5 seconds; but depending on nozzle size and cooling, this can be too fast for the overhangs at the the top of the openings. Maybe try the small test version first.
