A plane that is printed in three parts.
1: Wing 217(L) x 40(W) mm
2: Tail 90(L) x 20(W) x 25(H) mm
3: Nose cone 23(L) x 10(dia) mm
The wings and tail are orientated to print along the leading edge.
Filamant: PLA (printed versions in red and yellow), but any colour of choice.
Layer Height: 0.15mm
Infill Density: 100%
Base Adhesion: Skirt
No supports
Weight: 22g
Once printed subject to any post processing more so on the tubular section in contact with bed, slide the three parts on a 228(L) x 7 (dia) mm plastic straw.
The nose cone is mainly to protect the straw from impact damage on hard surfaces.
Additionally, to balance the plane a lump of blue/white tac (~10g), will be required. Placed ~23mm behind the back of the nose cone.
The wings placed ~43mm behind the back of the nose cone.
The tail is placed on the back end of the straw with the back of the tail aligned to the back edge of the straw.
Some adjustment on the placement of the wings may still be required for optimum flight duration.
Once optimise if the wings/tail slide forward upon impact, wrap a strip of tape around the straw in front of the wing to prevent is moving forward. The same can be applied to the tail but this will prevent removal of the wings.
