Some people really like the wheel on the Bosch PBD 40 drill press, others replace it with a traditional 3 axle cross. I got inspired by a different idea by user mbatorowicz over at Thingiverse. He added a knob to the wheel.
However there were a few things I wanted to do differently. So I did.
My version is meant to be printed and attached three times. This means there is always one handle in an ideal position - regardless of the current base height of the machine.
I also didn't want to increase the footprint of the machine, so my knobs had to be closer to the wheel.
Per knob you need the following material:
Check the pictures on how to assemble the whole thing. The M8 screw will actually thread itself into the printed knob. The nut just helps with the initial start and provides the pressure on the assembly. Everything pressfits (I used a vise to push in the the bearings).
Fusion and step file are available in the downloads in case you want to adjust it to your needs.
For one handle:
I used 20% Gyroid infill and 4 outer perimeters in PETG for extra strength.
