I have accumulated a lot of USB charger and data cables and tossing them all into a pile is just not working for me…

I tried hanging them, but there are multiple lengths and their cable jackets are not a uniform diameter, so the vertical hanger idea was a fail.

I found this alternative posted by Memo: https://www.printables.com/model/274250-ikea-alex-cable-organizer/files  but I do not use ALEXA drawers and I still found the protruding cable ends to be ugly.

Here, I have remixed Memo's solution to add cable slots to the two narrow ends.  Printed in PETG for flexibility, these slots accomodate all of the cable jacket diameters in my collection.  You can display both cable ends at the same end or at opposite ends. You can tuck both ends into the box if you wish, or just leave the unique end sticking out & tuck away the USB-A end.

There are singletons, pairs, three and four-unit versions, to let you build your own storage modules.  The 20mm boxes hold 6ft/2m cables. The 10mm boxes hold those dinky 3"-12" cables.

I stuck my boxes up on the side of a cabinet, with dual-sided foam tape.  You may find these still fit into the ALEXA drawers, but I can not promise that.

I have also included files labelled “+Tool”, which contain both the box and the shape that I subtracted from the box to make the slots.  You can resize the box and/or the Tool, to make your own variations of these in a mesh modeling software like Microsoft 3D Builder.

NOTE: These boxes do require a lot more time and plastic than the simple racks, but I prefer their compact format.  You could, with a bit of remixing, also turn this design into a set of racks, using just one end + deepening the slots…
