Originally I had designed a larger phone holder for my and my colleagues desks at work, but they kept growing legs.

Back to the drawing board. How does one stop plastic prints from growing legs?

Make it smaller and always keep it with you!

After some time brainstorming, I came up with this idea. A slim minimalist print in place phone stand that is quick to print, easy and almost infinitely adjustable (just change its position on your phone) and most importantly, can always stay with you.

The designed in, compliant spring can be easily adjusted on common filaments by heating the print using some just-boiled water and stretching or compressing it to slightly less than the desired thickness (let logic guide you and don't blame me for any burns, hot water is hot!).

The one shown in the picture is going on 6 months old and hasn't been stolen yet. In fact these things are so popular I ended up printing a whole lot for family and friends.
