I was inspired by the knitting clock featured on Hackaday and decided to design one of my own. My design is built around a Sentro 22-hook knitting machine and I have published all of the details about the project including assembly instructions on my own site at https://kylerank.in/tempus_nectit/.
Many wall clocks have the Latin saying Tempus Fugit, or “Time Flies” and so I have named this project Tempus Nectit, the closest Latin approximation I could find for “Time Knits."
This is my first ever attempt at doing 3D modeling so please be gentle. Everything was created using Tinkercad. All of the large case pieces I printed with .2mm layers and 10% infill and everything was sized to (just barely) fit my Ender 5 Pro's build volume. Everything listed is 100% my design apart from the sentro 22 gear adapter, which is remixed to attach to a keyed stepper motor from a knitting machine motor mount part that I can no longer locate on either Thingiverse or Printables.
Print the Sentro gear adapter with 100% infill for strength, ideally in PETG.
I tried to design parts whenever possible to avoid the need for supports. The bottom case has its own supports for the large overhang that you will need to remove after printing. Most of the rest of the pieces can be printed without supports, apart from Case Top A.
Print one of everything apart from the short clips. Print three of those.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
