Inspired by this model by @FabianVeile. His design is great and very elegant, but I could never get enough pressure on the lead to be usable. Instead of tweaking the print settings a bunch, I decided to try my hand at a new design inspired by his pencil.

I decided to make it thinner and add a clip, as I intend to use this to use this as a bookmark for easy access to a writing instrument when reading, for notes.

Usage

The clip portion is required. Push it up over the lever to hold the lead in place, and keep it in that position when the lead is fully in the pencil to keep the lead from sliding out.

To make it easier to get the lead to the right length, try letting some out, then pushing the clip up just a little to lightly hold the lead. Push it in to desired length, then push the clip all the way up.

Use 0.9 mm lead

Print Settings

Print the body of the pencil horizontal, and the clip vertical. No supports are needed, but use a brim for the clip - came off the bed for me a couple of times when I didn't use one.

0.1 mm layer height
20% infill
Use brim for clip
pencil = horizontal, clip = vertical

Thoughts, etc.

Haven't tried other lead sizes. Seems possible, but they would be easier to snap with over-tightening the clip.
PETG may make for a better clip (more flexible). It's kinda easy to break. I haven't tried though.
