This is a Modular Board Game Organizer (MBGO) to clean up your table and make the access to cards as easy as possible.

Design goals were usability, compatibility with each other, low filament usage.

Currently it consists of

  • Deck Holder for standard sized cards (63.5 x 88mm)
    • 2 slots
  • Card Box for standard sized cards (63.5 x 88mm)
    • 1 slot
    • 2 slots
    • 3 slots
    • 4 slots
    • 5 slots
  • Card Boxes for small sized cards (41 x 63mm)
    • 1 slot
    • 2 slots
    • 3 slots
    • 4 slots
    • 5 slots
  • Level Block (used to stack Card Boxes)
    • Standard Size
    • Small size
  • Card Stand
    • Only a short version for now. Will add more soon

All items can be combined with each other and are attached with magnets.

A medium Card Box needs 8 magnets if you fully equip it. I added only the ones I need for my current setup.

All items can be used with and without sleeved cards!

The Card Boxes have articulated walls so cards are always "falling" in the right direction. They also allow to flip through the different slots of a box and hold cards in place. They will not fall out of the box when you try to access e.g. the 3rd slot.

You need 20x10x1mm neodym magnets.

More things like token boxes and more deck holder will follow. I designed this or my currently tabled game Aeon Trespass Odyssey. I will add more things when I need them for other games.

Print Settings

Notes:

Some things to consider when printing. The walls for the magnets are quite thin. Take care to use an appropriate layer height so the slicer will not remove them.

I also use the Classic perimeter generator and not the new Arachne as this one will not use a single line for the hull outline, but dedicated lines for the magnet walls. Also works, but is less visually appealing.

No need for any supports. Complaints from slicer could result from small line I added to the bottom. This one is a guide for adding stickers so the plastic is not scratching on your playmate.

Do some test print to check that the magnet holes are fitting the magnets. Size can vary depending on slicer settings.

Post-Printing

Card Box

The Card Box is divided into three parts to print. This ensures a much smoother surface for the cards and saves a lot of filament. Just add some glue to the 2 dividers.
