I started on a quest to make a mosquito trap, a novelty toy I had growing up. As I worked on this model, I slowly figured out that my printer wasn’t going to be able to print something that small. The next best thing was a desktop toy, I started working on it and got pretty far in to it when I came across this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:127721 it was pretty much what I was designing. But I figured I could have options like if I make it like this then you could use that person’s jaws. I ended up stretching mine to match to that persons dimensions… to a degree. That was probably a mistake because now I don’t know if I need to call this a remix or not, I did take the tongue model and changed it to work with mine. I used Sketchup 2017 to create this, I exported the cad files to every format it allowed me to for anyone to edit it.

The springs were causing one of the jaws to stick up higher that I wanted so I created a slop on the springs the thinner part goes away from the tongue and trigger. The springs with the rectangular base will lock the springs in place. The springs with the rounded base will swing around freely. The pins went in for me once I sanded down/cut the elephant foot off the pin. Once they went in I have yet to have them slide out.

With mine you can have mix and match options with the springs and jaws.

What you will need to print:

                1 Frame/Base

                1 Tongue

                1 Pan

                2 Pin’s

                1 – 2 Springs

2 Jaws the chompy jaws have two files each, the jaws that don’t have spikes on them you will need to print two of those.

Please note that the spiky jaws did draw a pin prick on one of my test subjects. If you are worried about hurting someone print up the non-spiky jaws.

Then I hope my rambling make sense.

Edit- some of my coworkers were having issues setting the trap, so I tried adding hooks to the pan and tonge model. I've yet to have time to print and test this.
