As I needed a camera for my Bambu Lab P1P, I decided to use ESP32-cam to monitor my prints with HomeAssistant. This is a simple case and holder for it. You can get the power directly from a USB connection on the printer itself.

Requirements:

2 Self tapping screws of 3mm

2 M4 nuts and bolts (16mm length)

1 ESP32-CAM (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003804757059.html)

1 Micro-USB breakout board (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001279234342.html) (Or you can directly use USB-A to Dupont cable, like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004723246338.html )

Assembly

You can slide down the esp32-cam into the body, make sure to apply an electrical tape between camera and SD-card holder! (mine was shorting I think). Place the breakout board into the 2 slots in the wall. Close with the lid and use 2 self tapping screws to close it.

Place the arm in the correct spot at the top left bar of the frame and fix it with M4 bolt. Use the other M4 bolt to connect the arm and the case.

Power

I have connected my USB breakout board with wires to dupont connector to 5v and ground, but you have a lot of options for the connection. You can also solder directly to the pins.

Make sure you have correct polarity on the connection! It can fry your ESP32 or even maybe the USB port on the printer. Triple check everything first!

If you want nicer cable management you can use 90deg micro USB cable.

Printing

Nothing special about the settings, supports are mostly not needed. One place I suggest you enable them is for the 2 pins where USB breakout board sits.

Cooling

ESP32-Cam can get warm/hot. I use VGA resolution with 10fps and the heat is manageable. If you use a higher resolution or more FPS, it can overheat. I haven't placed any venting holes in the design. If you have a cooling problem, you can drill some holes in the case for ventilation. Maybe I will add them in the future iteration.
