Ball joint mount for the Creality CR-6/Ender 3 S1 style filament runout sensor. The movement of the sensor on the ball joint prevents the filament from binding or rubbing at extreme X and Z positions.
Print orientation for all parts is straightforward other than the “stem.” I printed the stem standing up with a brim, and with organic supports under the ball. Some minor post-processing may be required to smooth the ball where the supports are removed. I also added a little grease to the ball to make it rotate smoothly.
I printed all parts with Polymaker PolyLite PETG with a .16 layer height. PLA should work as well.
