I love my Prusa printers. I got in early and still had an older MK2.5s (the very first printer I purchased). With the newer model (MK3s) using extruded aluminum for the frame (instead of threaded rods) I wanted to upgrade. I spoke with support a number of times and they said it was too costly to upgrade my printer. So I took matters into my own hands.
These parts are designed to upgrade your MK2x to use the aluminum extrusions that come with the MK3. Most of the assembly process is the same as outlined in the MK3 assembly manual.
The connectors on the switch for the build plate have to be bent slightly so it fits. I probably could modify this slightly so it fits better. But this is the first version and it works.
Please note that I included all of the parts you will need. In addition, I included parts that would be a good idea to replace while you have your machine torn apart.
NOTE: All parts with the MK2.6 prefix are original Prusa parts that have been modified to work with this conversion. All other parts are the original MK3s parts at the time of this posting. They are posted here for convenience.
Happy Modifying!
