Update 2023/03/02:

After doing some calculations, with the current design, the slug would have to be made of steel or some material weighing in the region of 90g. With this knowledge I've concluded that in order to be mostly 3D printed the design of the top half would have to be changed to make it at least 50% lighter.

Update 2023/02/23  v1.1:

It turns out, a slug of air-dry clay this size only weights 18g. This isn't a viable option.

• Added recess for clay cylinder in bottom half.
• Added mold tool for clay cylinder.
• Increased top hole diameter.

The central column is a bad idea! Unfortunately after dropping the toy the central column broke away from the top half. 

Build

The “Antenna” comprises of a thin spring steel or carbon fiber rod, which is hot glued into a recess into the top half of the egg. The same diameter hole is drilled into a ping-pong ball* and hot glued into place at the top of the antenna. These can be easily replaced over time.

During printing you will need to pause the print of the bottom half and insert the clay slug, or other weight of your choosing.

*You could decorate the ping-pong with feathers or yarn for added interest.

Printing

I have provided a project file with these settings as a basis. PLA should be strong enough with a wall thickness of 2.25mm

Recommended print settings:

Bottom 

Printed with the flat side on the build plate.

v.1.1: Pause at 43.88mm and insert the clay slug.

v1.0: 100% solid infill from around 50% up.

Top

Add a support blocker cylinder to the central screw column and support from build plate only.

Mold

If using a clay slug, print x2 mould halves and combine with a rubber band before pressing in the clay. Once you have let the clay dry you can separate the two halves and insert it into the bottom half after it has printed to 43.88mm or layer 188 if using 0.28 layer height.
