This holder allows you to reuse an old 478 Intel socket cooler for more recent sockets like 1150, 1151, 1155, 1366 and others with 75x75mm hole mounting.
In my case, I had to trim some of the fins to clear the capacitors on the board with sidecutters. Not pretty but works.
As for mounting to the board, I used 4 M4 screws with nuts. This is not ideal because the mounting holes on the board don't have enough clearance for an M4 head or nut. Some copper traces are very close to the holes could be damaged by the head or nut. To prevent such board damage, I added a DIY plastic washer between the board and the screw head. I recommend having the screw heads on the bottom of the board and using the nut on the top so it's not a problem if you have longer screws.
