Created for the keycap contest, this cap fits standard red Cherry MX switches. The design is based on the buttons found in the popular Portal franchise. The provided sleeve is optional and may not fit your specific keyboard (use the provided size reference to find out whether or not it fits yours, it needs around 7mm of clearence from the edge of the switch in all directions).
Contents:
The default, small brim button is best used with the sleeve, while the one with the larger brim can act as a standalone keycasp. There is an option for low profile keyboards as well!
Printing instructions:
Pretty much whatever you're comfortable with. The button should be printed “upside down”, so that no support is needed. You may need support for the sleeve. Infill is 20% on mine, but it serves next to no structual purpouse, so it doesn't really matter. Layer hight is .2mm on mine, but it looks decent with basically anything.
Assembly:
For the sleeve and its cover, friction should be enough to hold it together, however a bit of super glue shouldn't cause any harm either. The assambled sleeve can be slipped on the switch itself, but a piece of double sided tape can assist it if needed, just be careful while applying it.
If your keyboard uses another switch standard, I'm happy to provide CAD files or create a new version on request. I don't have a lot of experience with keyboards, so please tell me if I should fix something on the base model or in the description.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
