Magnet used is a 2x6mm rare earth magnet. Glued into orb and base. 

Stick to surface using double sided tape. 

Diameter of hole is 4mm, intended to bend open and clamp down wherever it is on the cable so it can hold it's place. 

Tested with thicker and regular thickness USB cables but not thin ones. Also Tested with a 8 foot long headphone cable and it held great. Could probably take even more weight.
