I am quite new to 3D Printing and sometimes its quite difficult to remember how a specific filament looked like when printed. Some filaments differ quite a lot from the way they look on the spool vs printed.

So I decided to create this simple Filament Sample Tag, something I could easily print in around 28 minutes each tag, big enough to give a good sense of how the material looks like, but small enough to attach them to a screw or key chain or something to hold them together.

The first designs I tried engraving them but I did not like the struggles of the printer with it, nor the fact that it was taking double the time. So on this design I just left an indented rectangle that would allow me to:

a) Write with a thin permanent marker.
\nor
\nb) Paste a brother label with the name and brand of the filament.

The reason why I indented it a bit is to reduce the potential amount of friction if I decide to place all the tags together like a Pantone sample.

Size of the tag:
\n8 cm (3.14 inches) long by 4 cm (1.57 inches) wide around 3 mm (0.11 inches) thick.

Print instructions

I just printed it in 0.15 speed Quality without any brim and 20% infill, pretty straight forward.
