Introduction

I made this bracket because the spot on my door where the doorbell was is uneven. I have included 2 versions, one with a standoff to the right (mirror if your doorbell is on the left) and one that's flat if you would like to have something easier to work with than just using the metal bracket it comes with. I have also provided the step files if you would like to modify it to add different angles to angle the camera, change standoff size etc. I printed this in PETG since it will be outdoors and subjected to the elements.

Printing Specifications

  • Printed on Prusa MINI+
  • PETG
  • 20% infill
  • Printed with supports
  • Orientate with bores for main bracket screws facing down

Instructions

You will need 3 M3 nuts to mount the Amcrest bracket and 3 screws that are no more than 4mm wide, with a max of an 8mm head to mount the printed bracket to the house. The hardware can be found at your local hardware store or on places like Amazon, McMaster-Carr, Granger etc.

  1. Take the 3 M3 nuts and install them on the back of the bracket using the screw pull method to ensure they're set
  2. Do a test fit of the Amcrest bracket to the printed bracket to ensure things line up right. NOTE: You may need to slightly install all 3 screws first, then tighten them down.
  3. Once your current doorbell is installed, route the doorbell wires through the bracket hole and mount the 3D printed bracket to the house using the 3 screw holes on the right side
  4. If you want to seal the area around the bracket with caulk/silicone, do that now before mounting the other bracket as it will be easier to do without the metal bracket being there.
  5. Carefully install the 3 M3 screws that come with the Amcrest doorbell installation kit to attach the metal bracket to the 3D printed bracket
  6. Wire up and attach the smart doorbell to the metal bracket, securing it with the screw on the bottom.
  7. You're done :)
