An adapter for using standard watch bands with a Garmin Vivosport.
I love my Garmin Vivosport watch, with one glaring exception; the non-replaceable (and not particularly rugged) band.
Rather than deal with factory repairs and replacements, I designed this adapter. It accepts the body of the Vivosport (with bands removed), and works with an inexpensive 18mm sports watch band, like this one from Amazon:
This was intended to be a proof-of-concept to see how well a PLA print would withstand daily use. After six months of pretty serious abuse, the only issue is the remnants of paint, drywall compound and thinset mortar from a bathroom renovation that I can't quite clean off. (The last picture in the set above shows the original print alongside a new one.)
I initially tried printing this upside down with no supports, then upside down with supports; in both cases, the quality of the visible surface on the finished print was not great. I ultimately printed it right-side up with supports - my least preferred option - in order to get the visible surface to look its best. You may have better luck with a different printer setup.
If you have a Vivosport with a busted band, it may be worth giving this adapter a shot before giving up on an otherwise decent watch.
Happy printing!
