I designed an additional lid add-on for the Airscape tin lid.

As soon as the coffee beans are stored inside a can instead of their original bag, information such as the roast date or purchase date is lost. If it is not written down somewhere or if the original bag is thrown away.

Therefore I designed a lid in order to dial in the grind setting, the roast date and the pruchase date, so that important information is not lost in the trash.

The base is specifically fit for the lid, so it won't slide off easily.

For one lid the print list is:

  • One base (either german or english)
  • One grind settings ring
  • Two day rings
  • Two month rings
  • Two date rings
  • And six handles

The date rings as well as the handles are all glued on top with superglue. The grind setting, day and month rings are all just layed on top so it is possible to slide them or dial in the specific settings. Due to the handles it is possible to store multiple Airscape cans on top of each other. The grind setting ring is set from 0 to 99, originally made for a Probarista DF64 grinder. But should also work for other grinders as well, as long as it is noted somewhere, which number corresponds to which grind setting on the grinder.

In order to have the most details, I cut the base in half in the PrusaSlicer, printed the halves seperately and glued them afterwards.

The base, the date rings and handles were printed with FormFutura EasyWood.

The grind setting ring, day and months rings were printed with 3DJake ecoPLA.
