I designed and made this about 4 years ago for my MMU2 as I could not find one that I liked,
this is completely free to download and print, but not free to sell,
I can not remember all the hardware needed or what size screws.
I will do my best to give what I can remember.
I tried my best to make it as easy to load as possible. this works on any filament I have put threw it. PLA, ABS, Nylon, PETG, TPU, etc
I did notice someone has designed a buffer something like this one but it attaches to the frame of the Prusa MK3, well this one does not. I do not plan on doing that either as this is an abandoned project. but if someone out there would like to do this. and send me the files so I can include them with this buffer. I would be happy to do so.
this can be made into about any size needed. it is modular so each color has its own module. the tower and tower connector would need to be redesigned.
4x3 mm tube - they need to go in the inputs. I forgot the length. think if I remember about 100mm long.
15mm x 2mm magnets - 10
10x3 mm screws
pc6 tube connectors - 15 or 10 if only using the top or side loading
16 x 5 x 5 mm Bearings 5
printed with PLA+, but can use anything.
the magnets will need to be installed to where they are forced against each other. they do not need glue. they stay in place with the magnetic force. I will try to get some sort of video showing how it is assembled when I get time.
please note- this was a work in progress and decided to give up on it
