I recently made the switch from DCC++ to DCC-EX and with that I upgraded to the Arduino Mega, ESP-01 for wifi, and a .96" display to show the ip address. This system can also be connected via USB to a computer running JMRI if you need to edit settings, rosters, etc.
This case was designed to be a simple way to protect the components and provide a way of mounting them to a layout.
You will need to print one base and one of the covers. I've included 4 covers to suit different needs. One version has a spot for the display and the other does not. 2 of them have wording on the cover that reads “DCC COMMAND STATION”, the other two are blank. I've included 2 bases, one of them has an access hole for adding additional controllers for items like turnouts or turntables. There's also two slots for a zip tie to hold secure the wires.
My print settings:
material: PLA
layer height: .28
infill: 15%
Note: There are no screws for the display. (Update 1.17.23 - I printed a second one for my dad and found out that not all .96" displays have the same mounting hole spacing. I ended up using hot glue to secure his to the cover) To attach it, I put the display onto the cover and then melted the pins to hold it in place (See photo of back of display). The cover is pressure fit with one screw.
