I had a selfie stick (https://ebay.to/3ZNLtL9, pretty cheap only $10) laying around here with a remote shutter button. Saw you could make timelapses without the extruder/hot end showing by using a trigger/remote to shutter the camera while the bed is fully extended and the head at a set “home” position with a little bit of custom gcode.

Couldn't find a bracket so I busted out the ol' caliper set and started measuring. Now, keep in mind. I am no CAD professional, I barely can use F360. So I am including the model file so you can modify it to your liking.

Only issues I've run into are during mesh bed leveling it will turn the remote either on or off. And I did add a little bit of unpeeled VHB just to cushion the extruder head as it presses the button, but I don't think this is necessary. And print quality does suffer a small amount with this, as well as print times being greater. The remote doesn't need to be pushed all the way into its slot either, it is a snug fit so adjust the height of the remote to your liking. Prints with supports, with the remote slot facing the bed.

This mod requires 2x M3x20mm bolts like these (https://amzn.to/3WcNKwn)

To install remove the 2x M3x12mm bolts from the left side of the X axis motor mount. Install bracket and replace with 2x M3x20mm bolts. Then inside prusa slicer add this gcode to the “after layer change” section:

;AFTER_LAYER_CHANGE
G1 X180 Y180 F{travel_speed*60} ;Move away from the print
G4 S0 ;Wait for move to finish
G4 P500 ;Wait for 500ms
;[layer_z]
