What is the screw placement dimensions? Are the centers meant to be 1/3" apart?
Amazing base for my printer station. Keeps my tools nicely in one place. Not my first setup however this one turned out amazing.
Printed in white PETG and had to swap to clear PETG due to how little I had
There are some inconsistencies, at least in the 4x6 and 2x6 tapered hole plates so far. I printed 4x6 and 3x6 to join, and the 4x6 is 1mm longer on the z axis than the other plates, so there is wobble when they're joined and placed on a flat surface. I was going to modify the .step file to remix it, but not all variations—including the 4x6—are included as .step, just .stl, so adding the missing .step files would be a big help.
The trays are very solid, though, and I'd really like to use them. I printed these with PETG-CF and they're really stable as trays. Unfortunately, the above issues made those prints costly and less than perfect. (edited)
Thanks for the different mounting options, all the variant files, and modular sizes - muc appreciated for us with smaller print plates. Would 3D printed plastic pins/pegs work as a more convenient alternative to screws and bolts for connecting units together?
Not a big fan. They bow when you screw 2 of them together. Also, I know its not the authors fault, but the default tolerance means that prints without manual seam placement tend to get stuck when you find the right (or rather wrong) combination of rotation and position. (edited)
I used this in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB0aKMuFJRg&ab_channel=Bastelsaal
This is fantastic! I printed 2 to check the connection. It works perfectly!
Gridfinity Modular Baseplates - Thanks for the great attention to detail in your models and in your use descriptions! - I printed a couple as a test and like what I see. Thanks!
This baseplate uses a lot of filament, it takes a long time to print, and it's a drag to install all of the screws. Totally worth it, though! I wanted something I could use as a tray and this baseplate is great for the task. I'll get around to putting the rest of the screws in, someday...
Brilliant - nice and strong/rigid so you can use it as a carrying tray not just a plate that sits on a surface. Thanks for sharing.
