Convert your orbital sander to manual mode!
This handle is what I used to turn a worn out sanding pad into a surprisingly useful hand sanding tool.
The holes in the handle are sized to accept #6-32 heat set inserts.
Want one but don't want to print it or install the inserts yourself? No prob, head over to my Etsy store and grab one! https://www.etsy.com/listing/951441100/orbital-sander-pad-handle
From the looks of it, this should fit sanding pads for DeWalt & Makita part numbers DW420/K, DW421/K, DW422/K, DW423/K, DW426/K, D26450, D26451/K, D26453/K, D26456, Makita BO5010/K, BO5030/K, BO5031/K, BO5041/K, XOB01T
More of the story you didn't ask for!
No, not really, well yes but no. Hear me out! When my sander started sanding throwing discs, I knew it was time to replace the sanding pad. The old sanding pad still held the sandpaper on fine for anything under "speed 2" so I kept it for some reason. Then one day while hand sanding with a used sanding disc it occurred to me it might be easier to hand sand with the old sanding pad! One thing lead to another and I made a handle for the old pad. I'm surprised at how useful this sanding contraption has been for me, so thought I'd share for anyone else who owns a similar sander.
