This design is a printed spool.

I made this model specially with a large diameter for brittle filaments. The model using the "short branches" has an inner diameter of 22cm while the "long branches" make for a 25cm diameter.

The spools are compatible with my "low friction" filament holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5253211

To make one spool you need one "spool center A", one "spool center B" and 6 branches.

The clearance is calculated so that you need to use a hammer to assemble the parts but it stays in place without glue nor screw. If you feel more secure, or if your version of the print require so, you can use 6 M3x35 and 6 M3 nuts to hold the assembly together.

I use it for the composite filaments I make which are brittle and break if they are curved too much. It also helps with old PLA filament when it becomes brittle.
