This shape is created using isometric geometry. The 60 degree angles between the faces creates a shape that locks into itself. A single shape can be in contact with 6 others at the same time, which is one of the most intricate tessellation patterns using such a basic shape.
The arrows are made using 60 degree angles and a 5:2 ratio of side lengths. This is then copied around the central axis three times to create the final tri-arrow shape. It looks simple and mesmerizing at the same time, which is why I like it.
