Structure of SARS-CoV-2 Spike (S) protein in an open conformation (ready for ACE2 interaction) including all major domains - one RBD domain is in an open conformation and the structure contains also a flexible stem connecting the S protein with the viral membrane.

The model was built from the structural alignment of the complete S protein structure from the D-I-TASSER collection (https://zhanggroup.org/COVID-19/spike/,  Zheng W. et al.
Cell Reports Methods, 2021, 1:100014, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.crmeth.2021.100014). and SwissModel (https://swissmodel.expasy.org/, Waterhouse A. et al. Nucleic Acids Res. 2018, 46(W1), W296-W303, https://doi.org/10.1093/nar/gky427) S protein structure with one open RBD domain (PDB ID: 6acj, https://www.ebi.ac.uk/pdbe/entry/pdb/6acj/index).
