The Playstation 3 Move Navigation Controller is a wand-style bluetooth game controller that is essentially half of a standard PS3 SIXAXIS. As it is bluetooth, it can be used for purposes beyond gaming (such as remote control of Arduino robots).
I have many controllers for such projects, and wanted a better method of storing them when not in use than just sticking them in a random box. I designed this thing to slip over the edge of the hutch on my desk (~ 16.5 mm thick wood). Each holder has space for four of the controllers. Since the holder is a separate part from the desk attachments, the latter could be replaced with a different design.
The parts needed to assemble one holder:
Both brass inserts are installed in the controller mount, not in the desk mount. The inserts provide threads for the M3x10 machine screw that attaches each Desk Mount.
If you don't have inserts, you could potentially get away with using a longer screw with a washer and a nut on the bottom, or remix the part to make use of a captive nut, but this has not been tested and is left as an exercise for the user.
Once the parts are assembled, the desk mount arms simply slide onto the edge of the desk.
If you are curious, the inner diameter of the ring is 36.5 at the midplane, with a 0.2mm outward taper toward the top.
