I like the “Keychain Knife” from k-eye a lot but missed some safety and comfort features. So I redesigned a new one with his design as a reference.
For safety I’ve changed the front portion for better grip and to prevent the fingers from slipping off, especially on the sharp side.
For more comfort I added the possibility to operate the knife with one hand. Just push it out hard so the blade will move the locker upwards. For stability and safety during cutting the closing still needs two hands for sure.
It took many iterations and test prints because my target was a easy but good looking print in PLA. I prefer the big object printed in PETG though. It needs a little run in time or if you use dry blades a drop of oil to move smooth.
Also my prints are always ment to be strong, so see the settings just as a suggestions and apply your own. Just keep in mind it will be harder to operate one handed. My settings are already to strong for small children which adds additional safety.
If you only want the finger guards but like the original way to open close and maybe longer lifespan, I’ve added a alternative too.
