This “model” is really a script for creating customized organizers used by people who are making beading projects. There is a sample STL file that I created using the default values, if you happen to want a bead organizer that is 10 inches x 7 inches with a conventional slot arrangement. Unfortunately Printables doesn't allow me to upload the actual script as a “model” file. It is inside a ZIP file under “Other Files.” It is also available on GitHub (link below) or can be opened directly in the online version of JSCAD:

  1. Design your organizer with the script in JSCAD. The easiest way to do this is to open the hosted version of JSCAD directly with a link to the latest version of the script from GitHub:
    https://openjscad.xyz/?uri=https://raw.githubusercontent.com/probertson/bead-organizer-maker/main/index.js
  2. Export the STL file from JSCAD and print it
  3. Glue the 3d-printed output onto a thin piece of soft foam. The foam serves as the base of the organizer. The idea is that the beads are just thicker than the organizer, so that when a flat lid is placed on top the beads are pressed into the foam and held in place.

Typically the foam-slotted organizer combination is placed into a fitted container, bag, etc., and a piece of acrylic is attached to the top to hold the beads in place when not in use.

The code for this project is open source, released under the MIT license. If you are remixing the script please submit your changes to the bead-organizer-maker GitHub repository.
