You can easily disperse particles onto the carbon tape using a rubber dust blower.
You need:
- Grommet :5 mm inner diameter (Like this link)
- Rubber seals cut into disks with an external diameter of 22.5 mm and an internal diameter of 17.5 mm
- Plastic bottle with bottom cut off
- Rubber dust blower
How to use.
- Place sample particles into the “Particle-cup”.
- Place the “Particle-cup” in the mouth of the plastic bottle.
- Attach the “Disperser” to the plastic bottle.
- Place the sample stub with carbon tape inside the bottle.
- Press the rubber dust blower against the insertion opening of the “Disperser” and blow air. (It is better to do this on a rubber sheet, as particles may leak through the gap between the plastic bottle and the ground surface.)
- Use the rubber dust blower to blow away excess particles on the carbon tape and the sample is ready for a microscope.
I think Particle-cup needs improvement.
