Razor kick scooter longer folding release tab

Place this on your Razor folding scooter to extend the length of the arm. It makes folding the scooter much easier.

This is one of the first models I have ever put here so Yay!

First off

When you slice the model you will want to make sure the angled section with the hole is being supported.

I used 0.25mm layer height with 4-5 walls for durability, it is excessive, but I wanted to make sure it did not break.

Print settings on a Anycubic Mega S

190 C Nozzle and 70 C bed 20% infil

Printed with Hatchbox White PLA

It takes just over an hour to print.

-------How to put it on ---------

  1. Locate the tab release lever on your scooter. It should be silver.
  2. There is a shaft running through it, at the end is a compression ring, remove it. You can use a flat head screw driver if you don't have the proper tools.
  3. Then pull the shaft out, be careful there is a spring that is easy to lose.
  4. Remove the old release lever, and slide the new one on making sure it angles out away from the scooter deck.
  5. There is a small slot in the tab lever where you slide the rod through, then take the short end of the spring and slide it through the shaft and into the hole.
  6. Guide the shaft through same hold you removed it from and make sure the long end of the spring gets into the hole it came from
  7. Reattach the compression ring, and since it most likely became deformed.    You can squeeze it back together with pliers.

To unfold the scooter: With the scooter folded, hold the scooter steering column with your right hand (like you were carrying a briefcase) and push the lever down with your thumb, the riding deck should release and make a loud snapping noise.

To fold the scooter: Grab the steering column and again hold it like a brief case with the deck perpendicular to the ground. Push the lever down and tilt the scooter back toward you. This will force the deck to fold back and lock into position.

If done correctly, this looks really cool.

I am also including the file for the shaft adapter, if you want to design your own lever shape.

Let me know if there is any confusion.

Thanks!
