Cool interlacing christmas tree ornament made out of triply periodic minimal surface (gyroid-structure is probably the best known tpms) for any 3D-Print and or math nerd out there :D

I used the formular on wikipedia for schwarz minimal surface (Primitive/Diamond), neovius surface and gyroid. Besides the “normal” cartesian coordinates there is also a cylinder coordinate and sphere coordinate version of every structure.

They should all be printable with:

  • For some ornaments ‘Support on buildplate only’ should work
  • Some might need extra Support. I recomend creating a smaller sphere as a support blocker (see renderd image)
  • The wall Thickness is about 1.2 mm so perimeters should be around 0.6.
  • Layer hight of 0.24 mm should work.

I will add some photos of the prints once they are done :)

You can also simply create your own ornaments with the included Blender-File (I used Blender 3.5.0 Alpha)
