Acorns are a common symbol for the Autumn season. With many celebrations coming this time of the year, we thought about making something for decorating dinner tables.

These acorn napkin rings can be used as ornaments on your dinner table. They have a small compartment where you can hide chocolates, candy, or special notes for your guests!

We first made them specifically to fit the Hershey's Kisses chocolates that we love, but couldn't find them here in Italy. Then we made a Large version to fit the equally good and a bit bigger Baci chocolates!

You can also scale these up or down if you want to use them for anything else!

08-Jan-2023: We've included files for the large and small top parts without the rings.

There are also two different closing mechanisms for the Large version: a threaded one, and a pin-and-slot one. Use the one you prefer!

3D printing tips

To make ours, we printed them in our Prusa Mini + using a 0.4 mm nozzle, at 0.2 mm layer height (we challenged all tips about 3D printing with Wood-filled PLA, but so far, so good!).

The prints require no supports at all!

We also stained the top part, using normal wood stain.
