I printed the original buffer wall, in PETG, using PLA supports. It…worked, although the cold conditions where the printer was made for a rather poor print. I also noticed the surface quality on the bottom side wasn't to my liking, and I didn't think that would improve by moving the printer to a warmer location.

I hit upon the idea of splitting the original design into two parts, that could each separately be printed flush to the bed.

I've just finished printing both parts, (and forgot about them for an hour, so both pieces were at ambient temperature by the time I dealt with them; I'd originally printed the ring second, thinking that if it was still a little warm, it'd only help with assembly..). They snapped together easily, with no forcing or warping. I can confidently say that this is an improvement over the original.
