Update Oct. 14, 2022 : Missing files for 60 tooth gear added.

These lathe change gears should fit most 7x10, 7x12, or 7x14 mini-lathes. These prints include all of the standard gears, plus some additional gears to make additional thread cuts possible.

Note that plastic gears are often provided as part of the original lathe purchase, so it is expected that these will perform well. One caveat is that the 20 tooth gear usually provided with a lathe purchase is metal - this is likely due to the fact that the key on these gears makes the part very thin for small tooth counts. Consequently with the 20 and 21 tooth gears I have provided "no key" versions with the idea that these could be adapted to a smaller key size if necessary.

Gears included:

  • Two required for some set-ups
    These small gears are weakened by the key-slot, so I also provide versions without the key slot
    * These are non-standard gears which provide some additional screw threading options.

The gear parameters are as follows (bore slightly enlarged on 3D print as noted):

Module 1
thickness = 8 mm wide
bore = 12mm (print 12.05 mm)
key 3mm wide x 2.5mm high

The OnShape 3D CAD files for this are available here:
