Update 5.11.2022: V2 versions with tighter threads (so it is suitable for more settings since thread holes are printed horizontally)
Info:
- well this is a another model which forced me to learn new things :)
- challenging model so it is printable nicely and easily without supports, in one piece
- So I'am happy, that it produced a cabinet / drawer handle possibly with an unordinary design
- M4 threads on the bottom of each for attaching to furniture
- threads are printed horizontally, but they worked very well for me on given settings
- possibility to scale the model, designed mainly to be scaled up (scaling down is risky because thread hole should remain the same and you may not have enough space for it inside)
Print instructions:
- see 3mf
- ❗ 0.2 mm layer height, 0.4mm nozzle => with theese the thread works for me well, other settings may not work nicely, but you may try
- the thread will be too loose probably on bigger nozzles or higher layer hight
- no supports
- print handle standing, use a lot of brim (like 12mm)
If you want different size / distance between thread holes
- I have attached a model without holes + with thread STL, which you can place at your distance and use it as negative volume
- you can easily scale any Axis of the handle model without the thread holes
- insert negative volume of the threads from given STL, place holes in the distance that you need
- (given handle sample is for the length of 12.8cm between bolt holes, so if you want handle for 13.8cm distance between holes, increase the distance between threads by 10mm)
- check, that it doesn't create hole on the front side after slicing (if yes, move threads left/right down/up)
- check, that you were not scaling also thread NEGATIVE volumes. Those needs to remain same size
- attached also 3MF with such example (model scaled on 110%, distance between holes increased by 10mm to 13.8cm)
Assembly:
- just use M4 bolts for attaching handle to the drawer/cabinet
