I made this for the A6, may work with other models as long as there is room to get the gauge under the x axis rails.
I wanted something adjustable i could use for making sure my Z was level in the home position. been using a small glue stick which was just a bit short then eyeballing it. The version I made had full threads in the body and lock, and was a challenge to get together the first time. The file here i took a lot of the unnecessary threads out, it should make it go together easier without losing any function.

Had to hand chamfer the start threads to get them to go together, really tight the first time, but loosens up after a few times ;-)
