My take on a BBQ Temperature Probe Spool for your favorite probe brand of choice that requires no support and can be printed in PLA or PETG. This design allows the probe jack to be stored securely as well as providing the probe with additional protection. The light grey and red top tool holder was printed with PLA and the dark grey was printed in PETG. Both are possible without support and the PETG came out nice. Print orientation is as downloaded.
How to print:
Choose one top:
Choose one bottom:
Choose one bolt (or print both if not sure):
How to assemble:
Use a small amount of lube on the bolt if necessary. Use a small coin (penny) to screw the bolt in clamping to top and bottom together.
How to use:
Insert the probe fully into the Top component that has the through hole. Wind the cord around the spool. Locate the best jack holder (you can tighten or loosen the wind if need be) and slide it in to the jack holder from the side.Do Not attempt to snap the jack into the jack holder from above.
You could color code your probe types by printing the entire spool in different colors or simply printing the bolt a different color.
