I commissioned the legendary Fixumdude to create a test print for my work at CNET.com. This test print that looks like the (now old) CNET logo covers most of the standard ways in which a 3D printer is used.
- One wing tests bridging, while the other tests overhangs
- The spires on the t test for stringing and how well the printer can handle fast moves and layers
- The print is exactly 30mm high to test for accuracy
- The embossed and embedded CNET text helps identify ringing
- The 4 sticks test tolerance in the most common gap sizes 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5mm
- The circle should be 15mm in diameter and should be a circle, not oval.
Speaking to other makers and they liked the idea of using this test too so I thought I would make it available here under a CC no derivatives license.
