Description

This filament runout sensor was up graded from the Creality Ender series sensor to be able to articulate and follow the extruder. It allows for full Z axis extension without binding or braking the filament and less pull force of the extruder. It achieves this by using a print in place ball joint.

Notes:

For adhesion I used a brim of 8 lines and for supports in order for the ball to print correctly I used a density of 35% and everywhere. Also add Z hop of 2mm in travel.

Have fun with this project and don't be afraid to innovate and incorporate. Its also nice to tip the designer if you like and use their art and innovation.
