I carry multiple badges at work to access various areas. Many years ago, this badge holder that can keep 4 regular sized ID cards came to me. I haven't seen one like this since, so when pieces started to break off the holder and various cracks could be seen in the plastic, it was cause for concern. After all, no one wants to wear a bunch of plastic ID carriers around their neck.
I decided a simple fix was in order. By printing a few reinforcement pieces that could be attached to the weak sides using glue, the badge should last another decade. These reinforcements would also act as retainers for the badges, as several of the retainer protrusions were missing. The sides of the badge were not symmetrical, so two separate designs were needed. Prusament PLA Black Galaxy was chosen for the material, and the print was performed at a layer height of 0.2mm. The pieces were oriented on the print bed standing on end, so seams would not go lengthwise allowing the holders to resist breakage from the abuse of sliding ID cards in and out; a raft or a brim probably a good idea.
