This was inspired by the Ranger's Apprentice stories by John Flanagan and the fan discussion here (https://flanagan.fandom.com/wiki/Flanagan_Wiki). I wanted to keep it simple and safe for those younger apprentices.
“At the middle of this leather-wrapped weapon is a brass tube, long enough to fit in the wearer's hand, and on either side is a lead-weighted brass knob, used to strike at an enemy, or used to throw at an enemy, stunning him from up to 6 meters away (in the hands of an expert user). The average Ranger carries two, and they can be screwed together to make a club. This extends their stunning range to 20 meters.”
There are 2 parts to this model - the rod and a striker. Print 2 strikers to screw onto the rod ends. Everything is printed at 0.2 mm detail without supports. I did include a 20 mm brim on the rod as it had a tendency to fall over when printed vertically. Print the strikers with the threads facing up. I printed for a younger apprentice with 15% infill. The strikers still had enough weight to be thrown a fair distance. You can print the strikers (rod too I guess) up to 100% infill if you want a heavier piece that could really do some damage.
